Project Description:
The project involves the design and integration of an automatic loading system for carbon fiber rolls into an automatic tape laying machine (ATL) using a 6-axis industrial robot.
-
- Integration and Interconnection with the ATL: The system is seamlessly integrated with the ATL, ensuring smooth operations without manual intervention.
- Safety Design and Installation: The robot is used in an open environment without the need for perimeter fencing, which could interfere with production. This involves implementing specific safety measures to ensure safe operation around human operators.
- Custom Design and Manufacturing of the Gripper: A specially designed pneumatic gripper is used for handling the rolls, enabling their precise placement into the tape laying machine.
- Advantages of the System: Compared to the previous manual loading method, the new system significantly reduces loading and unloading times, minimizes worker risks by eliminating direct involvement in load handling, and increases the productivity of the tape machine.
